CYSE 270 Project

Linux System

Cybersecurity Assessment

This course is called Introduction to Linux, known as CYSE 270 in Old Dominion University regarding Cybersecurity. The course covers topics such as Linux distribution and key components, user and group accounts, file and data storage, automation, networking, and system administration. The course also provides access to Mindtap, an online learning platform that offers interactive exercises, quizzes, and videos. Overall, this course, no doubt, this course is essential and has helped me significantly as a cybersecurity undergraduate and will help me in advance.

One of the activities that I found interesting and challenging was the shell scripting assignment in Module 4. In this assignment, I had to write a script that would perform various tasks, such as creating directories, copying files, checking permissions, and displaying messages. I learned how to use variables, loops, conditions, and functions in shell scripting. I also learned how to debug and test my script using echo and read commands. This assignment helped me to improve my programming skills and problem-solving abilities.

The Project I chose for this course is called Linux System for Cybersecurity. The following project involved tasks such as Managing the system and package installation. I have learned commands such as ps, sudo, gnome, and apt-get. In addition, I also learned cool exercises like sl, cowsay, and matrix with fascinating results as shown in the images below. Below, I have also embedded my project to learn more.
